TVC Communications, owners of TVC, TVC News and Max FM recorded another historic moment when the host of its morning chat-fest show YourView on TVC, Morayo Afolabi – Brown beat the closing gong at the Nigeria Stock Exchange (NSE) closing market ceremony, held at the 9th floor of the Exchange House in Lagos on Friday, 31st August, 2018.
Speaking after the ceremony, Morayo Afolabi - Brown who was joined by other co-hosts of the show; Tope Mark-Odigie, Jumoke Alawode – James and Nyma Akashat Zibiri said “We consider it a great privilege to be given the opportunity to close the stock market and we are also happy for being recognized as part of the Most Influential (under 40years) People of African Descent in Africa (MIPAD). This is coming at the time that YourView on TVC is celebrating its 5th year anniversary and it goes a long way to show that our works are being appreciated by our viewers and fans.”
Director General, Nigeria Stock Exchange, Oscar Onyema who spoke to ladies of YourView at the event said “Let me formally welcome you on behalf of the Council and Management of the Nigerian Stock Exchange. Let me also congratulate you for been selected as part of the Most Influential Africans. It goes to show the quality of work that you do, so please accept our hearty congratulations.”
The gong closing ceremony is an event that is used to signify the end of the day’s trading activities at Stock Exchanges across the globe and an invitation to beat the gong is considered by many to be an honour and an acknowledgement reserved for institutions and individuals with resounding achievements to show.
